Congratulations to all competitors! It was another great race day with an excellent turnout for VORRA spectators and racers. TLR was pleased to see our VORRA friends again, and the ever-funny Group T racer Mike Koenig gave us a lot to laugh about. Once again the Class 11 teams worked together to keep each other’s cars competitive on the track, and parts/tools were being lent/shared back and forth. Jeff Lee of the Desert Dawgs stated another racer told him, “I can believe that these guys are making each other more competitive and getting them back on the course.” How wonderful that you can find that kind of friendly camaraderie at VORRA within this awesome class. Thank you VORRA for putting on another successful event.

Brief Class 11 recaps for teams can be found on the Class 11 Coalition thread HERE. At the time of this post, members are still contributing.

If you would like to view some good photos of racers in their cars at the starting line, there’s a thread on the VORRA forum, posted by Camoit.

We are working on the video we took on Saturday and Sunday. Here are some photos to entertain you until then:

Meek Racing’s #1142. Unfortunately this is the only photo we have of it so far! It shows where the Desert Dingos nerfed them in moto three before going over. Congratulations on your first place, guys! Photo provided by David Meek Jr.
CBCFS Racing’s #1116. Despite some electrical issues such as a broken ignition switch, burned relays, a couple shorts, a broken distributor, and an air filter that decided to wanted to be independent from the carb, these boys proved they are competitive and will be a team on the watch-list. Engine by Gary Herrod of TLR! Photo provided by CBCFS Racing. We’re proud of these guys, and their family is hilarious with great hospitality.
Desert Dawgs with Petfinder #1106. Their car is always a good watch on the short course, but unfortunately that was cut short in moto 2 when they suffered some ring gear damage to the transmission. They were able to drain it and return for moto three, but took it easy. Photo provided by the Desert Dawgs.
Desert Dingo Racing #1107 and off to a consistent start of the year. They took the notoriety of the best double barrel roll of the day in moto three, that topped itself when the rear drum blew up into many pieces and the tire took off in its own race. What one member of the team stated sums it up, “That’s how we roll!” They state they will be back for the April short course races, and you have to hand it to this tough little car. Photo provided by the Desert Dingoes.

As a side note, we were pleased to learn from David Meek’s family that the Green Booger won the “coolest car” contest in third grade sharing. Thank you for that, guys! Very cute. 😀
