And a great time was had by all! It was a wonderful turnout, with around forty VW’s total in attendance on what ended up being decent weather this March 1, 2014. It was a tasteful mixture of air and water cooled VW’s, interesting people, a lot of all VW, and delicious beer on tap with an entire menu of different ways to dress up dogs. And let me tell you, we make Ruffhaus Hot Dog Co. a regular jaunt, because their food is TASTY. You can also keep up with them on Facebook. If you are in the area, we highly recommend this restaurant and guarantee you will enjoy the car/dog-themed atmosphere. A big bonus is the owner is a VW guy with a bus he is converting to a hot dog cart! Great conversation was had all the way around.
VW’s from as far as Grass Valley, Auburn, Sacramento, Roseville, Citrus Heights, Sommerset, Placerville, Granite Bay, and more came for this great new event. The first destination was Stephan’s Auto Haus in Sacramento, CA. You can also visit Stephan’s on Facebook. He is a very courteous and knowledgeable guy, especially with VW Vanagaon and Audi engine in Vanagon conversions. We practically drool on his personal and customer Syncros when we visit his shop. After the open house at Stephan’s, a line of VW’s sauntered up HWY 50 to Ruffhaus in El Dorado Hills, CA which was quite a sight to see. It’s not every day that VW’s not only block intersections in their lines, but also take precedence AND get waves/thumbs up from adults and children alike. Of special note, there is a rumor going around that there will not be a Niello Ranch Run this year. You might keep the Ruffhaus run in mind in lieu of that, as they do plan to hold another event. Information on that is not available at this time.
More pictures, if you have Facebook, are from Kyle Madden’s album, but please be aware I did not take these so you will have to contact Kyle if you would like to use a photo of your car.
Here are the photos we took this evening! Some cars had already left by the time we ventured out to kodachrome capture. Apologies for the quality of some of the photos, it was evening. If you see a car here that you would like to use the photo of, especially if the car is yours, you are more than welcome to use it if you give Two Larrys Racing the credit and a link-back to either our website or Facebook page. 🙂 Thank you for a great time, VW enthusiasts and Ruffhaus Hot Dog Co.! It was really fantastic to see so many beautiful and different VW’s all in one place.
