VORRA Yerington 300 and Local VW Club

Two Larrys Racing and the Green Booger, #1112 are gearing up for the VORRA Yerington 300, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time last year with the association and the camping environment, as well as the track being excellent and the scenery outstanding. Yerington is actually one of the greener areas of Nevada, and features a lake near the campground. In addition, four Class 11 cars have confirmed they will be attending – The Green Booger #1112, #1106 of the Desert Dawgs, Bob Messer’s #1177, #1107 of the Desert Dingos, and possibly the Skittles car with Vorrateers behind the wheel. Class 11 enthusiasts who are looking to build their own 11 car or are simply interested in racing have been invited, and the pit camp looks to be one of the biggest we’ve had the pleasure of being around. We are looking forward to the Yeringon 300, and if you can make it please stop by and say hi! You can’t miss the green!

In other news, we would like to point out a new VW club in Northern California called NorCal Bajas Off-Road Club. They have turned the love of VW’s and off-roading into a family-friendly fee-free monthly event that is affordable and fun for all. If you get a chance, check them out at their website http://www.norcalbajas.com/ and maybe hit them up for a run or two or twelve this year! You can also find their website on our links page.

Next, we would like to remind our readers of Two Larry’s second racecar, Frankenshine #1121. Progress has been slow on her due to our upcoming race and the work necessary on the Booger, but expect more posts after our races! You can follow her thread on our forum HERE.

Also, please take a moment to visit the progress on the 1964 VW Squareback Variant S Project, located HERE on our forum. She is getting closer to being a runner! We found a transmission with overdrive in fourth gear, and decided to go with the 1776 engine.

Lastly, we would also like to remind our readers of our forum (which you can click on the link above) which we hope will become a plethora of knowledge and information regarding Class 11’s, VW’s, and racing. Feel free to use it for the free classifieds section, to keep track of a project you are building with it’s very own thread, post information regarding races (such as maps, radio frequencies, etc.), collaborate with your racing friends, ask questions, etc. Don’t forget to tell a friend about our site and the many uses our readers can gain from it!

Thank you again for following the Green Booger’s adventures and our website, and we hope to see you at the races!
