The VORRA Halloween BBQ on Oct. 30 & 31 represented the close of a great season and we were pleased to have both the Desert Dingos, #1107 and the Messer Clan, #1177 to race against. The weekend was kicked off with a rain-drenched afternoon which cleared up in time for an exquisite meal provided by VORRA, followed by costume contests, pumpkin carving contests, and Trick-Or-Treating from camp to camp with the little ones. Even some of the cars were dressed up for the occasion, including the Green Booger and the Suburban Beast. It was great family fun, and provided safe and prosperous candy-hunting for the kids.
Sunday dawned warm and sunny, and the Class 11’s battled it out on the track with flaire that only the Class 11 cars can pull off. Unfortunately both 1177 and 1107 experienced a roll-over, and luckily neither were seriously damaged or hurt. Despite a nearly broken beam that was patched together for this race with our fingers crossed, the Green Booger pulled off one last win of the year. The Green Booger is now a championship race car, having taken the season Class 11 title by a sound twenty-two points. Two Larrys Racing will be attending the VORRA Awards Banquet in December.
Thank you to all who have supported and followed #1112! Your assistance and enthusiasm is well-received and very appreciated. We had an excellent pit-crew and competition throughout 2010, and it’s really amazing to have so much family support and many great meals and memories. We were really pleased to learn about the fans that follow our website, and that is appreciated as well! With a much needed break, 1112 will be worked on over the off-season and come back better than ever in a season premiere at the SNORE Battle At Primm, February 2011. Updates will be posted on the website periodically to entertain you with our progress towards the new season.
There are plenty of photos for the Halloween Races, I just don’t have them yet! I will be adding as soon as I obtain those, and will post an update here to let you know. Thank you also to those who were concerned about the loss of our forum; we experienced technical difficulties and had to delete it. I will be getting that back up again soon, and thank you for your patience.
