SCORE and VORRA Race Recaps

Another SCORE Tecate Baja 500 is in the history books. Overall winner is Robby Gordon, who puts yet another big race win onto his list of accolades. Amazingly, the fastest vehicle on the course was not a car, but a motorcycle piloted by Tim Weigand of the Johnny Campbell Racing Honda team with an average of 51 mph. Roger Norman stated on Facebook today:

“Last nights Grand Opening of SCORE International Baja Burgers and Beer was awesome. The 306x Baja Mex Insurance Team came and interviewed with George Antill on Dirt Live from the restaurant. They brought there tattered motorcycle as it finished riding the last miles with no rear tire. At the finished line 306x became the first motorcycle to nerf a SCORE Trophy Truck (BJ Baldwin) as he slid underneath crashing into the third member rider and all. Winning with nothing left to ride.”

What a great story!

Unfortunately it seems that the Class 11’s didn’t fare too well, though there were six entries this year:

*1 1101 Rene Rodriguez Ensenada, MX VW 1 21:59:00.000
DNF 1104 Cisco Bio Spring Valley, CA VW 0 00:00:00.000
