Just 149 more miles…JUST

And I believe a new phrase has been coined for weird happenings now: “Where is 1101?!”
1101’s tracker has not worked the entire race, and while they were reported to be in second place for many miles, not even people down there right now can report just where they are NOW. We wish them the best.

7:44pm:
1107 is headed back to Ensenada via HWY1. They are out of the race now. Please read more about that on their Facebook page Desert Dingo Racing, or their website.

As a personal note to #1107 The Desert Dingos, you guys should be proud of your effort this year. You have come back from a couple of years away from the Baja and done something you’ve never done before. You have made it farther than you ever have in a race, and that is impressive. Great effort guys, you have done what so many people dream about. We are sorry to hear about your timing out, and offer our best wishes for next year.
Please read their announcement HERE.

1116 is still in it as far as we know. At the moment they are stopped at RM684 for about twenty minutes before they moved a bit more, and stopped again. We do not know why. I have print screened this new photo to show just how close they are to the finish line. That red line represents a mere 149 miles more after 833 total race miles (well, barring the limited car bypass in the southern section).

EDITED: They are moving again! They are now at RM687 going 14.3mph as of 8:19pm. GO GUYS GO!

Here is an updated we received from Paul Nauleau of CBCFS Racing #1116 himself, just out of the last checkpoint at race mile at about 7:30pm:
“I just got out from a 155 mile section! It was the gnarliest roughest road i have ever seen! We went flyibg off a hidden kicker in the silt and landed in a 10 foot ditch! After breaking our starter we were able to get towed out by some locals in a 4×4. We switched starters and continued before breaking the upper passenger shovk mount on the beam. We presses on as now Ryan Crook and Nate are going over the hills! More stories to come like getting side swipped by a trophy truck coming down the summit…”
