The Booger was no more…and an engine is coming to life.

Today brought the Booger to more nakedness than we have seen since early 2009 when it was painted. We ripped it’s electrical innards and controls out today, and unceremoniously dumped into corresponding buckets. There is nothing left on the dash, which honestly is very strange after having spent so many hours working on and driving in the car. You end up with dreams featuring that dash and its controls.

The upside to all of this [long] work is that the Booger is getting a giant upgrade, the upgrade we’ve been promising it for, well, since 2009. We are looking forward to redesigning our electrical system and making it tighter and more organized. It was before, but it just wasn’t good enough. This will hopefully thwart our random electrical issues we’ve experienced in the front, which has cost us precious time. Not to mention it will have a better wiring harness, not just the one we pulled in a hurry from a waterlogged bucket. A tight car is one without electrical issues!

Doors and hood. You won't be seeing these guys any longer. This includes the logo. That is bittersweet.

In other news, the Turbotastic Oval Rag made progress today as well. It’s obviously a lot more intensive and mathematically entertaining than ripping apart a Class 11. This is why Larry G does all of the engine building stuff. 😉 The turbo engine is now at almost a full long block. Please visit the page linked above for more information on that project.
